'Capital Connection' train funding

The Manawatu-Whanganui Regional Council (Horizons RC) is keen to subsidize the existing service provided the NZTA does the same.

However, the news item on Radio NZ implies that the NZTA will not even consider subsidizing the train as "it does not reduce congestion" [nonsense]. The Greater Wellington Regional Council has indicated it may help out.

I ask myself who are these people at NZTA. Qualified and well travelled to know how a transport infrustruture works efficently or Government puppets who carry the can for rednecks making stupid policies that will reap no reward for the generations to come.I am not stating everything is no good, only when passing a remark as stated, about conjestion only reaffirms they are peeing in the same pot as certain Ministers who have no love of rail.
The economy needs people, people need work, work needs sound public transport , sound public transport works for a stable economy-and reduces carbon emissions.
