Ljubljana trams, Slovenia

The electric trams of this city (known in German as Laibach) lasted from 1901 to 1958. The trams were painted green and white with the Ljubljana dragon emblem on the exterior. There was a 3 year intermission between 1928 and 1931 when buses were substituted instead, but rather surprisingly these were not considered a success and trams were reintroduced.  However, the end came in 1958 when trolleybuses were introduced, followed by diesel buses which replaced the trolley wires completely in 1971.
