Western Australian double Fairlie loco

As in NZ, double Fairlie type steam locos, patented in 1863, came to WA.  Two were built for the WAGR in 1879, but weren't used for very long, being mainly deployed on mineral traffic on the Geraldton to Northampton line.  They were withdrawn from service in 1893 and scrapped.

The 53.6 km Geraldton to Northampton line, the first government railway constructed in Western Australia, lasted until 1957.
